Philadelphia 76ers star rookie Ben Simmons has yet to take the floor this season for the Sixers but the swingman has already aired out a ton about his personal life.
In his Showtime sports documentary ‘One and Done’, we got a look at Ben’s journey from his Australian roots all the way through until he was drafted with the first overall pick this past June. While the main focus of the documentary showed Ben’s battle at LSU in an attempt to singlehandedly lead the Tigers to greatness, there was another battle he was facing. He often battled the outside world of a professional athlete alongside his family.
Ben’s relationship with his siblings was noted as a point of drama at times. His brother is a member of his inner circle and helps Ben with the day-to-day business while his sister Emily is a member of the Klutch Sports team and handles his business operations.
But his sister Olivia, nicknamed Liv, showed in the documentary that she felt left out at times. She divulged her battles with depression and expressed her desires to be more involved in Ben’s life. By the time the documentary ended, it appeared that Ben was going to have Liv more involved in his life and career. Her personal battles continued and she spoke candidly about what she goes through with her mental illness.
While she battles her own demons, Ben continued to proceed with his life. There’s nothing wrong with him continuing to push forward as one of the bright young stars in the NBA but there was apparently a family issue. Slowly but surely something happened along the way since the documentary aired and Liv started to send some interesting tweets about her brother. They culminated with her showing that he blocked her on Twitter and she then proceeded to completely put him on blast. Hopefully, they can work things out and get back on good terms.
Olivia Simmons tweeted the following.
My brothers initials are BS. When I think of BS I think of bullshit. Lol

I'm tired of people asking how my brother is before they ask how I am. ASK HIM IF YOU CARE SO MUCH.
