Vanity Fair has confirmed that Ben Affleck will reprise the role of Batman in the upcoming Flash movie. Affleck will make a cameo alongside Michael Keaton’s Batman in what is being described as a significant scene in the film.
Despite his presence in the upcoming Flash film starring Ezra Miller, reports indicate that he will not be reprising the role in other projects. Affleck was initially involved in the upcoming film, The Batman, from Mat Reeves. However, he decided to take a step back in the franchise. Since then, Robert Pattinson has taken on the role and it appears that he will be the face of the franchise moving forward.
“He’s a very substantial part of the emotional impact of the movie. The interaction and relationship between Barry and Affleck’s Wayne will bring an emotional level that we haven’t seen before,” Flash Director Andy Muscietti said.
“It’s Barry’s movie, it’s Barry’s story, but their characters are more related than we think. They both lost their mothers to murder, and that’s one of the emotional vessels of the movie. That’s where the Affleck Batman kicks in,” he continued.
The Flash will debut in theaters on June 3, 2022.
