In many ways, Ausar is a lot like everyone else. He lives in Chicago, Illinois. He has a regular job, where his coworkers may or may not have just realized that he makes incredible music. However, he is different in one way. That passion of his for music may is seemingly close to becoming his full-time career. At least, that’s what it looks like from the outside.
With a co-sign from Chicago legend Lupe Fiasco, Ausar has seemingly taken the next step in his career recently. Over the last 12 months, he’s performed on On The Radar, shared the stage with Joyce Wrice and performed at Taste of Chicago. Not to mention, he’s opened for femdot., collaborated with Deante Hitchcock and debuted at Lyrical Lemonade’s Summer Smash. Now, he’s looking back at the year and celebrating his greatest accomplishment — releasing his breakout album, I Now Know.
“[I Now Know is] an album I made with all of my friends. The process changed me as a person. I’ve never done something so difficult yet so rewarding. [I’m] grateful to God for the experience. [I] wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world. Every person who’s listened has been part of the journey,” he wrote on Instagram.
“A few dozen shows, hundreds of thousands of plays later, and some memories to last a lifetime. We got a few more surprises in store before we move on to the next chapter.”
One of those surprises is his first show as a headliner. Ausar is set to celebrate the one-year anniversary of I Now Know with a special show Subterranean in Chicago, Illinois on Sunday, September 29 from 7 PM to 9 PM CST.
“We [are] running the album from front to back. I need everybody who love[s] me front and center, screaming every word. [There will be] a few special guests too. Come run this victory lap with us,” he wrote.
