Armando Bacot will have the chance to further his legacy while with the North Carolina Tar Heels. He is now one double-double behind Antwan Jamison for the second most all-time in North Carolina history and just ten behind tying Billy Cunningham for the most double-doubles in program history. In the game, Bacot also passed Brice Johnson and Antwan Jamison for the sixth-most rebounds in North Carolina program history. He could finish first in both by the end of the season.
This season through four games, Armando Bacot has averaged 18.3 points, 11.8 rebounds, 1.3 steals, and 1.5 blocks per game. He has paired those numbers with a field goal percentage of 51.2 percent and a free throw percentage of 69 percent. The Tar Heels’ next game is against the Portland Pilots in the first round of the Phil Knight Invitational. Bacot is also a preseason candidate for the National Player of the Year Award and will need to continue to put up good games to compete for the award. The program also has a National Championship on its minds this season.
