Angie Martinez has dominated the airwaves around the city of New York for more than two decades. Now, she’s making her presence felt in the world of podcasting. During a recent interview, Martinez announced that she was debuting a new podcast called IRL.
“So we’re framing it around life—it’s called the Angie Martinez IRL podcast—but it’s about life, legacy, mortality, and purpose. Everything that really matters,” the radio legend told Karla Rodriguez of Complex.
“We get so caught up. We’re all so busy. We’re all chasing things. We’re all trying to get money, whatever you’re chasing. Whether you’re chasing to be the head of your business or run your own business, those are great. We should have goals and there are places to have those conversations about business or finances or hustling. There’s plenty of information about that.”
This is not the first time that Martinez has broken into the podcasting sphere. Previously, she worked with Miss Info to produce In Real Life. The limited release featured the two veterans discussing Colin Kaepernick’s protest movement, Hurricane Harvey and other important matters. In contrast, Martinez’s new show won’t have an official cohost, but it will feature a roster of special guests. In fact, IRL is set to debut later this month with special guest Lauren London.
