The Detroit Pistons are having a couple of good days heading into February. Just one day after acquiring Blake Griffin, Pistons big man Andre Drummond has been selected to replace Washington Wizards guard John Wall on Team LeBron for the 2018 NBA All-Star Game. It was recently revealed that Wall would be missing time as he undergoes a knee procedure.
When the full All-Star rosters were announced Drummond made some public complaints about the snub. While some may believe that got him into the game NBA commissioner Adam Silver actually makes the final decision on injury replacements. The standard practice of the league is to just simply select the next reserve player in line that received the most votes from the NBA coaches.
Following comes from an official NBA press release.
Detroit Pistons center Andre Drummond has been named by NBA Commissioner Adam Silver to replace injured Washington Wizards guard John Wall on Team LeBron in the 2018 NBA All-Star Game, which will be played on Sunday, Feb. 18 at Staples Center in Los Angeles (8 p.m. ET).
Drummond earned his second All-Star selection, having previously represented the Pistons in the 2016 NBA All-Star Game.
