
With all of the new music that comes out each week, it’s one thing to have a good album. However, it’s an entirely different thing to have a good album that everyone knows about. That’s something California native Anderson .Paak has right now. After dropping a freestyle on the L.A. Leakers, a video with Kendrick Lamar and a single produced by Dr. Dre, .Paak definitely has everyone’s attention right now. Building off of the great momentum he has right now, Anderson .Paak has dropped his fifth studio album, Oxnard.
Named after his hometown, the album touches on the sound, lifestyle and life lessons the musician takes from his Californian hometown. In addition, the project features production from Dr. Dre and appearances from Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, Q-Tip, Snoop Dogg and many more.
When asked about the album, .Paak said, “This is the album I dreamed of making in high school, when I was listening to [Jay-Z]’s The Blueprint, The Game’s The Documentary, and [Kanye West’s] The College Dropout.” Those are lofty expectations for one project.
