Madison Square Garden will be packed throughout the first weekend of February. Things will kick off at noon with Big Ten men’s basketball showdown featuring the Rutgers Scarlet Knights and the Michigan State Spartans. Just a few hours later, the Knicks will take on the Clippers. To cap off the evening, Hulu Theater will welcome some of the best boxers in the world.
DAZN and Matchroom Boxing will host a pair of major bouts at Madison Square Garden on February 4, 2023. As previously reported, Alycia Baumgardner will fight Elhem Mekhaled for the undisputed super featherweight title. Alongside Baumgardner, Erika Cruz will fight Amanda Serrano for the undisputed super featherweight title. Rounding out the event, Skye Nicolson will fight Tania Alvarez for the WBC “Silver” Featherweight Championship.
“Naturally, I’m very excited to finally be fighting for undisputed to make it official what I’ve known all along – I’m the world’s best fighter in this division,” Baumgardner said.
“I look forward to entering the ring on Saturday, February 4th in my hometown of NYC back at Madison Square Garden, taking on a Mexican champion in Erika Cruz and making Puerto Rican history. I encourage all my fans to turn up and tune in,” Serrano added.
Matchroom Boxing and DAZN add to an exciting night in the sport. On the same night, Liam Wilson will challenge Emanuel Navarrete for the WBO Super Featherweight Championship.
