With Kobe Bryant set to retire at the end of the season, a huge storyline in the NBA has become the Los Angeles Lakers’ farewell tour. In the midst of all of that talk is whether Bryant should play in the 2016 All-Star game to be played in Toronto.
Count NBA commissioner Adam Silver as one of those who thinks Bryant should indeed play in the showcase:
NBA Commissioner Adam Silver just said on @SiriusXMNBA that Kobe Bryant deserves to be at the 2016 All-Star game in Toronto.

There will be plenty of discussions and debates about Kobe having earned an all-star berth. On one hand, he is having a historically bad season combining high usage and low efficiency. On the other hand, he is one of the premier players in the league’s history, having played 20 seasons with the Lakers, mostly at an extremely high level.
If I were a betting man, I would wager that Bryant will indeed make the all-star game. He is an immensely popular player around the world and with this being his final season, the votes will roll in even more than usual. As a fan of his, I would be quite happy to see that happen.
