Actress Kelly Preston passed away earlier this morning at the age of 57 after long, hard fought battle with breast cancer. Her husband, John Travolta, confirmed the news earlier today.
“It is with a very heavy heart that I inform you that my beautiful wife Kelly has lost her two-year battle with breast cancer,” Preston wrote on Instagram.
“”My family and I will forever be grateful to her doctors and nurses at MD Anderson Cancer Center, all the medical centers that have helped, as well as her many friends and loved ones who have been by her side,” he added.
Travolta let fans know that he would be taking time away to grieve the lost of his wife with the rest of his family. The two were married for nearly 30 years and gave birth to three children, Ella, Benjamin and Jett. Tragically, Jett passed away in 2009 at the age of 16.
In addition to being a mother and wife, Preston was also an accomplished actress. Appearing in over 60 productions, she became famous for her roles in Jerry Maguire, Twins and Maroon 5’s “She Will Be Loved” video.
Preston is survived by her husband and two children.
