A$AP Rocky was arrested Wednesday in Stockholm, Sweden for getting into a street fight. The rapper, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, was involved in the fight on Sunday, June 30. Rocky claims the fight was self-defense. The fight was captured on video and went viral on social media.
According to A$AP Ferg, A$AP Rocky is currently in solitary confinement without visitation or call privileges. He stated,
“They are trying to keep him there for 2 weeks and if convicted he will be looking at 6 years just for defending himself in a fight,” Ferg wrote. “He was no way in form the aggressor in this ordeal. Pray for justice #freeflacko.”
A Swedish court has ordered for him to be held two weeks in pre-trial detention during the investigation. According to Vulture, “Swedish lawyer, Henrik Olsson Lilja, has said that the detention will be appealed, insisting that Rocky will gladly return if and when a trial is scheduled.”
The rapper could face up to six years in prison if convicted.
