Michael B. Jordan has just wrapped up the rollout for Without Remorse and he is about to embark on the release of his next film, A Journal For Jordan.
In his latest work, Jordan will play the role of First Sergeant Charles Monroe King, a loving and committed man who falls in love with Dana Canedy, played by Chanté Adams. While in the military, King builds a future with Canedy, proposes to her and prepares for the birth of their first child together. Tragically, King dies in service before he has the privilege of seeing his son grow up. However, he does leave a collection of letters behind for his son and Canedy to read in his memory. As he grows, his father’s letters teach his son how to live without a father.
Jordan and Adams are supported by a star-studded team that includes Denzel Washington as the director. For those who are unaware, Washington has a pristine track record as a director. He has spearheaded The Great Debaters, Fences and Antwone Fisher. Joining Washington, Virgil Williams adapted A Journal for Jordan: A Story of Love and Honor into a screenplay. Williams is best known for developing the screenplay for Mudbound.
A Journal For Jordan will hit theaters on Christmas. Check out the trailer below.
