In a nice educational yet public stunt, Paramount pictures will be mailing out a free copy of Selma to all public and private high schools in America.
Directed by Ava DuVernay, the historic film sheds light on the struggles of Martin Luther King Jr. [David Oyelowo] at the peak of the Civil Rights Movement in preparation for the march on Selma, Alabama.
The moving piece was at the center of controversy during Oscar season after it failed to make the Best Director list of nominees. Regardless, the film has garnered several awards and made a historic mark during the actual anniversary of the March on Selma.
Selma will be released on DVD on May 5.
