
HBO has announced that A Black Lady Sketch Show will return for a second season in April. Season two will feature six episodes and feature contributions from Laci Mosley and Skye Townsend. Also, Robin Thede, Gabrielle Dennis and Ashley Nicole Black will return to make season two as hilarious as the first.
“Oh, you thought a pandemic was gonna stop us? The Emmy-nominated sketch comedy series returns for its second season [in April],” HBO writes.
“The narrative sketch comedy series features a core cast of Black women living relatable, hilarious experiences in a magical reality that subverts traditional expectations. Joining the cast this season are featured players Laci Mosley and Skye Townsend, plus returning core cast members Robin Thede, Gabrielle Dennis and Ashley Nicole Black.”
Executive produced by HBO mainstay Issa Rae, season one received critical acclaim and three Primetime Emmy Award nominations. A Black Lady Sketch Show also won the “Outstanding Achievement in Sketch/Variety Shows” Award at last year’s TCA Awards.
Season two will debut on HBO on April 23, 2021. Check out the first teaser for season two below.
