“Okay. Since 6LACK is active [right now], can you please perform ‘Outside’ at your Detroit show? [November] 2 will be [the] first day that I’m done [with] cancer treatment. My [favorite] song [performed] by my [favorite] artist would be the best way to kick off a new chapter of my life,” one fan, named Cait, tweeted last July.
“Done. Let’s celebrate,” he replied.
Just a few months later, 6LACK made sure to fulfill his promise. While in Detroit, he invited her to the show and shouted her out on stage.
“So, I’m going to do one verse from one song I’ve never performed [in] my whole life,” he said before performing the track.
Shortly thereafter, the Atlanta native not only shared a TikTok video of him performing the track, but he also brought the live performance to streaming services.
