03 Greedo drops new project Netflix And Deal from behind bars with production handled by Kenny Beats.
Earlier in the year, 03 Greedo released Still Summer In The Projects with Mustard and continues to not let a 20-year prison sentence hinder him from releasing music. The California rapper, who also earned his GED while currently locked up, made sure to record a solid amount of tracks before beginning his time.
Netflix And Deal came together shortly after Kenny Beats and 03 Greedo first met. The two connected through both music and movies, which 03 Greedo used to tell stories relating to his life. In an interview with Complex, Kenny Beats shared the story behind Netflix And Deal.
“Netflix & Deal was the crux of our relationship and what we always were working towards. Other features were going on at the same time period, but the intention was always to do this project. I think Greedo at one point was still facing a life sentence. He was getting married. He had all these different things going on at the same time before he went to jail, and he literally was using movies to tell his story, and tell things that happened in his life without having to outright say things about his life.” says Kenny Beats.
Kenny Beats also shares that a part-two of the project may be on the horizon. According to Complex, 03 Greedo recorded over 30 album and 3000 songs before beginning his sentence.
