Mark Cuban speaks sense again. Usually owners say dumb things but this guy continues to preach. Sure he’s looking at it as if that’s good for his team but nevertheless he’s correct. Top to bottom, the Eastern Conference is better than the Western Conference.
Mark Cuban is at least hopeful that the early trend in the NBA of the Eastern Conference looking more impressive than the supposedly more powerful West is more than just a fluke.
Going into Saturday’s games, only three teams in the Western Conference were more than a game above .500.
Seven teams in the East were more than a game better than .500.
“Let’s just hope it stays that way,” Cuban said before the Mavericks played Houston. “It’s a crazy season so far. I don’t think anything’s gone according to Hoyle so far, except maybe for the (Golden State) Warriors. The East looks like the tougher conference right now. And that’s a good thing. I’m really, really hoping the East becomes a powerful force and the West becomes like the East has been.”
Lucky for Dallas the West is flopping out the gates. Houston in particular. The East have some legitimate challengers, something that most people failed to realise, giving the East to the Cavs on a silver platter. The NBA don’t work like that. Cleveland got to earn it, everybody has to earn it and the Eastern Conference seems more hungry at the moment.
