The leading candidate for the NL MVP should not be getting attacked once he enters the dugout, correct?
You would think that would be the case but just one day after the Washington Nationals were eliminated from playoff contention – thanks to a New York Mets victory – they took the field for a day game against the Philadelphia Phillies.
As Bryce Harper was put out at first, the Nationals best player headed towards the dugout and Jonathan Papelbon had words to share with the MVP candidate. It’s unclear to hear what Papelbon and Harper say to each other but it must have been something dramatic for the new Nats closer to go after Harper.
Since Papelbon arrived to Washington, he’s been nothing but trouble for the team and has actually been a bit of a bad luck charm for the team. It would be hard to expect that he is on the team next season.
