Minnesota Timberwolves rookie Zach LaVine was the undoubtedly one of the top stars of 2015 NBA All-Star Weekend in New York City. LaVine dominated the Slam Dunk Contest by arguably putting on the best show since Vince Carter back in 2000.
Looking at his spectacular dunks, it’s easy to forget that Zach is still so young. He just turned 20 today and was the second youngest to win the Slam Dunk contest, his idol Kobe Bryant is the youngest. LaVine is from Seattle and plays in Minnesota so he’s only been in NYC a handful of times, and never really had a chance to really explore and enjoy the wonderful city.
As you’ll see in the video above, he got a chance to check out some of the coolest spots in the Lower East Side just a few short hours before the Slam Dunk Contest.
He got a fresh haircut at a local barbershop, enjoyed brunch with A$AP Ferg and A$AP Twelvy as they talked shopped and he got decked up from head to toe with some fresh gear.
LaVine took in a classic NYC day before getting to work to get that Slam Dunk trophy, which he received with ease and as you can hear in the video, he had no doubt that he was going to win it.
