On June 18th, 2018, Jahseh “XXXTentacion” Onfroy was shot and killed while leaving Riva Motorsports in Deerfield Beach, Florida. According to reports, Onfroy was leaving Riva Motorsports when he was held at gunpoint, robbed and then shot at point, blank range. South Florida resident, Dedrick Williams, has been arrested in connection to the murder. Police are still reportedly looking for other suspects involved with the murder.

Since June 18th, Denzel Curry, Ski Mask The Slump God, Meek Mill and many others have payed their respects to the slain rapper on social media and on stage. One point of focus in the wake of Onfroy’s death were his plans for a charity event. In the days leading up to his death, the South Florida native had mentioned doing a charity event for the area later that week. In an effort to keep his spirit alive, Helping Hand, DJ Scheme, Yes Julz and a number of others close to the fallen musician teamed up for a charity event at Charles R. Drew Elementary School. The event was largely successful as it delivered 1,000 free lunches to local Liberty City residents.
XXXTentacion’s memorial service will be held on June 27th at the BB&T Center in Sunrise, Florida. The service will be open to the public and will feature an open casket for those interested in paying their respects to the fallen musician.
