A spokesperson for the US State Department gave the following statement to CNN in regards to the investigation of Ambassador Johnson:
“We stand by Ambassador Johnson and look forward to him continuing to ensure our special relationship with the UK is strong”
Having purchased the Jets in 2000, Johnson is the latest NFL owner to find himself in controversy, as Washington’s Dan Snyder also found himself at the center of a recent Washington Post report outlining his team’s culture of sexual harassment.
Jets All-Pro safety Jamal Adams, who has been publicly disgruntled with the team, has responded to the report via Twitter.
