Congratulations are in order for Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth as the duo now share the honor of having the number 1 record in the country. Previously sitting at number 10, thanks to the success and the heart-string tugging last 5 minutes of ‘Furious 7’, the general public has spoken and has helped launched ‘See You Again‘ to the top spot. Accumulating 464,000 digital downloads this week, that was enough to dethrone Bruno Mars and Mark Bronson’s smash hit, ‘Uptown Funk’, which was atop of the Billboard Hot 100 for the past 14 weeks. Interestingly enough, the ascension of ‘See You Again’ is right on time as ‘Uptown Funk’ was just a few weeks from dethroning Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men’s classic ‘One Sweet Day’. This now serves as Wiz Khalifa’s 2nd number 1 record and Charlie Puth’s first. To add to the honor, coinciding with ‘See You Again’ sitting at the top, the Furious 7 (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) is currently the number 1 album in the country. It is impossible to not believe that Paul Walker is surely smiling at the success that the franchise is currently achieving.
