Why the Usage of Self-Driving Trucks Will Not Render You Jobless

(Scosche)

Scientists and economists all say that robots and artificial intelligence (AI) will take your job. Is It True?

Well, l yes and no. It depends. As the World Economic Forum states, AI and robotic technologies will create an expected “133 million new jobs by 2022 but also lead to 75 million jobs being lost.”
Yes, self-driving cars and trucks are the technological trends of the decade. But that doesn’t mean that the trucking or transport industry is on its last leg. Before self-driving trucks dominate, it will have to learn from human drivers first. It will take a lot of trial and error, learning, and mistakes before they are given the green light.

You see my point, right? Self–driving trucks are here, but their focus in the future. But you still need to know what the entire buzz about these cars. Are they even real?

What Is a Self Driving Car?

A self-driving car is a vehicle that functions without the guidance or control of a human being. Mostly referred to as driverless cars or autonomous cars they utilize different software, sensors, and systems to operate.

Therefore, such a car slows down, speeds up, follows traffic rules, and stops to allow pedestrians to cross the streets and parks all without human control thereby becoming a driverless car. So it shouldn’t be a surprise to see a car moving in the city with the driver’s seat empty but there is a passenger or two in the backseat.

But there have to be advantages this self-driving car technology brings.

Why Self Driving Cars Are Good

1. They will eliminate congestion or traffic. Driver behavior is one of the many causes of traffic jams and congestion. It happens every day in every city where several cars are all along the same lane, then you see them stopping, speeding up and slowing down. For example, if one car suddenly brakes or stops, the effect of that stopping will be felt 10-20 cars behind. This happens when a driver suddenly changes lanes or a driver is distracted with his phone or device. But with a self-driving car able to communicate with other driverless cars, it can know whether the car in front of it will stop, change direction or speed up. This information will save a lot of cities from traffic jams.

2.  A self-driving car will reduce traffic accidents since most accidents are the result of human error. With “94% of the traffic accident is the result of human error” or driver related according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). If human control is removed, if the math is right, accidents are greatly reduced and more lives saved.

3.  According to a survey, “US drivers are spending nearly an hour behind the wheel. In a year they are spending 70 billion hours just driving.” What if you used a self-driving car to go to work? The hour used to drive whether you’re a parent, student or entrepreneur can be used to read a book, pay for essay writing, or sleep.

Since you aren’t driving, you won’t experience road rage and anxiety which are some of the negative effects of traffic jams and driving. You’ll have more time and if you are a student having homework troubles. You can check out to do my homework for me Reddit in that time spent driving and before the end of the day your homework is done.
In a few years, children will be picked from school will self-driving cars and parking a car won’t be a hustle.
