In recent years, we’ve seen the rise of hologram shows and special performances. Tupac infamously made a posthumous appearance at Coachella. Chief Keef also attempted to have a hologram show in his hometown of Chicago, Illinois. Not to mention, Michael Jackson appeared as a hologram at the 2014 Billboard Music Awards. Now, it appears that Whitney Houston may also reemerge as a hologram in the near future.
In an interview with The New York Times, Houston’s sister-in-law, Pat Houston, mentioned that there are plans to release a new Whitney Houston album to accompany her hologram tour. Houston noted, “Everything is about timing for me.” She added, “It’s been quite emotional for the past seven years. But now it’s about being strategic.” The new album is expected to include unreleased tracks recorded for Houston’s 1985 self-titled album. According to Rolling Stone, the hologram is already under development. It’s being modeled after previous holograms for musicians such as Frank Zappa and Ray Orbison.
It’s unclear when the tour would begin and how long it would last. However, it does appear to be a done deal. Would you be interested in hearing a new Whitney Houston album? Better yet, would you attend a Whitney Houston hologram tour?
