
The First Purge will take you on a joyride of horror and suspense in this origin film of the franchise. Y’Lan Noel places a familiar face from HBO’s Insecure from the role of Daniel King. He portrays a Black Panther-esque character of this strong-willed adaptation of that is not all about fun and games. It will be interesting for us to watch him on the big screen. His counterpart, who plays an activist to end The Purge. Lex Scott Davis who’s notable for her role as the phenomenal Toni Braxton from the Lifetime Movie, Toni Braxton: Unbreak My Heart (2016).
This Purge takes a psychological turn to be able to have the freedom of “releasing all of your anger in one night” for the purpose of saving the country. With more of a diverse cast of people, it’s no longer a one-sided presentation, but we get to see more people of color interacting in the film with strong lead roles rather than depicting blacks and other minorities as the villains.
