Kevin Durant just shocked the world
. He made his decision to sign with the Golden State Warriors, and now the little shock waves created by Durant’s signing are beginning to ripple. With nowhere near enough cap space to sign Durant, the Warriors will renounce back-up Center Festus Ezeli, the first of many moves to relieve cap-space for the one-time MVP. According to Marc J. Spears of ESPN:With arrival of Durant, source says the Warriors will renounce their rights to the center Festus Ezeli making him an unrestricted free agent

With Ezeli now an unrestricted free agent, it makes it easier for other teams to come to an agreement with him. Teams like the Los Angeles Lakers have already shown interest in the Center and with the salary cap slated for a $24 million increase, Ezeli will be getting a raise. Harrison Barnes will most likely sign a max deal offer sheet from the Mavericks, making it impossible for them to match their offer. They will also be looking to trade their starting Center Andrew Bogut and his $11 million salary next year, just to make room for Kevin Durant. There is no word yet on if the Warriors will be looking to trade anyone else like Andre Iguodala’s $11 million contract, but with Durant signing a 2-year, $54.5 million deal, it’s possible. With Durant deciding to go to the Warriors, the entire dynamic of the western conference and the NBA changes, and the Warriors just become unfair in NBA 2k17.
