Kevin Durant has had a strange summer. This is his time; he’s 28 years old and just won Finals MVP. He’s a champion. He should be having a good time and trying to keep getting better. Instead, his offseason has been bizarre. First, he dissed Under Armour, a brand repped by his superstar teammate Stephen Curry. Then, he (seemingly) mistakenly sent out a tweet in the third person from his own account defending himself and dissing his former team and head coach. The Warriors are confused, per Yahoo’s Chris Mannix:
Many in Golden State, team officials and players alike, have taken note of Durant’s oddball offseason and are perplexed by it. They see a bright future for Durant in Oakland, league and team sources told The Vertical, and are bewildered as to why he is still addressing his past.
The past is the past, and the present is now. Durant should focus on enjoying his time right now, instead of arguing with petty trolls on Twitter. Those people have nothing better to do. Durant does. He should be enjoying a triumphant victory lap, and that’s not exactly the vibe that’s coming through.
