A new chapter of the Mortal Kombat film franchise could be in development. Earlier today, Variety has reported that Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema are developing a Mortal Kombat sequel with Moon Knight screenwriter Jeremy Slater. Unfortunately, there is little news regarding the film’s cast, plot or release date.
The latest Mortal Kombat film debuted in April 2021 with a cast that includes Mehcad Brooks, Lewis Tan and Jessica McNamee. While it received mixed reviews, it earned $83.6 million worldwide on a $55 million budget. The film also debuted on HBO Max, earning 5.5 million viewers in 17 days.
