Warner Bros. has announced that Wonder Woman 1984 will be released in December. The film was originally pushed back to an October release date, but has now been delayed yet again due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Because I know how important it is to bring this movie to you on a big screen when all of us can share the experience together, I’m hopeful you won’t mind waiting just a little bit longer. With the new date on Christmas Day, we can’t wait to spend the holidays with you,” Wonder Woman 1984 Director Patty Jenkins said.

“We’re very proud of the film and look forward to bringing it to audiences for the holidays,” Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group Chairman Toby Emmerich added.
This news comes just a few days after the release of Tenet in theaters within the United States. The Warner Bros. project has performed well in theaters given the circumstances, but has definitely taken a hit because of the ongoing pandemic. With that said, Tenet will face little competition from any other major picture with the delay of Wonder Woman 1984.
Wonder Woman 1984 will arrive in theaters on December 25, 2020.
