Throughout the course of his career, Wale has leaned in on making music with artists from around the world. In 2009, he linked up with New York native to deliver “Chillin’.” Not long thereafter, he connected with the Bajan billionaire Rihanna on “Contemplate.” As her career has developed, he’s remixed hits from Australian artists like Sam Sparro and hopped on “Diced Pineapples” with Toronto’s own Drake. With that said, Wale has returned to one area of the world time and time again, Texas.
Wale has shown love to the state of Texas from day one. On his debut album, he worked with Houston legend Bun B to produce “Mirrors.” He’s also made records with Travis Scott, Solange and Trae The Truth. More recently, he tapped in with Megan The Stallion to drop “Pole Dancer.” Now, he’s moving out to Dallas to deliver “Down South” with Yella Beezy and Maxo Kream.
“Down South” samples the classic record, “Sittin Sidewayz,” from Paul Wall and Big Tokey. Floating from verse to verse, the trio flawlessly compliments each other’s unique style.
“Down South” is the latest record from the Washington, D.C. native. Earlier this year, he teased the release of Folarin II and dropped “Angles” with Chris Brown. As we wait for the release of his next project, check out “Down South” from Wale below.
