Since his arrival into the hip-hop game, Wale has had the opportunity to be on ESPN’s First Take a number of times. With every opportunity of being on the show going well, ESPN finally reached out to the leader of the EveryBlueMoon movement to remix the theme song to First Take. And of course Wale is the last one to hesistate at a chance to rap and make a great song.
With the release of the new theme song, Wale also speaks about receiving the opportunity to write the song for First Take.
“Being asked to write the new theme song to First Take is a big deal to me being such a big sports fan and former college athlete,” Wale said. “I was honored when they asked me to write the current one, and jumped at the opportunity when they asked if I’d write the new one. I grew up on ESPN and now I’m writing their theme songs? Man, that’s what this whole EveryBlueMoon movement is about. Plus, Skip [Bayless], Molly [Qerim] and Stephen A. [Smith] are family.”
