Following the release of “Not Like Us” by Kendrick Lamar, many fans have wondered how Drake will choose to move forward following the most highly publicized feud in Hip-Hop of recent memory. First, he looked to rap over the viral “BBL Drizzy” beat on Sexyy Red’s “U My Everything.” While the track was met with criticism from many, it did receive some support via social media.
“Ironically, Drake has the best verse on the ‘BBL Drizzy’ beat,” one tweet reads.
“Sorry, but I appreciate Drake’s clever approach to using the ‘BBL Drizzy’ snip on his feature with Sexyy Red,” another tweet reads.
However, Drake’s follow-up to “U My Everything” has not been met with any support. On Monday, June 3, a version of Snowd4y’s “Hey There Delilah” cover, “Wah Gwan Delilah,” appeared online with what appear to be Drake’s vocals. While there is no official confirmation that Drake’s verse isn’t generated by artificial intelligence, there is a nearly universal consensus about the quality of the song on social media.
“This is not a joke. This is a real song. Drake came out of the Kendrick Lamar beef with this, an accented version of Hey There Delilah. I am over here shedding real tears,” one tweet stated.
“‘Wah Gwan Delilah’ aint it. Drake [is] pissin’ me off. I hope thats AI,” another tweet reads.
While Drake continues to be the subject of social media scrutiny, there are reportedly plans for Drake to be featured on Camila Cabello’s upcoming album, C,XOXO.
