In Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals vs. the Houston Rockets, NBA MVP Stephen Curry made history. In the second quarter of the game, Curry made yet another of his typical deep, off-the-dribble treys, breaking Reggie Miller’s record for most three-pointers made in a single postseason with 59. The crazy thing about this accomplishment? It took Miller 22 games to make the 58 threes he made in 2000. Curry broke his record in just 13 games.
Curry didn’t stop at 59. He made 7 shots from deep during the game, and now sits at 64 made threes. Curry isn’t just breaking Miller’s record, he’s shattering it. Unless the Rockets become the first team ever to win a playoff series after trailing 3-0, Curry will have the NBA finals to continue racking up 3-pointers.
I have a feeling that Curry’s record is one that will remain unbroken for quite some time, unless Curry himself breaks it. Curry has been unstoppable this postseason, and he will most likely continue raining threes for the remainder of the playoffs.
