Mikhail Prokhorov made a promise to Nets fans in 2010 when he first bought the team. He promised a ring within a time of 5 years or else he would get married. Looks like he’s getting married right? Prokhorov recently put out a video on the Nets’ website to clear the air with Nets fans:
The Nets are far from an NBA Championship now. With Brook Lopez, Thaddeus Young and Joe Johnson as their core group, they want to begin to win. They lost their starting point-guard in Deron Williams and signed Andrea Bargnani, Shane Larkin and Thomas Robinson. Two players that were apart of the Knicks who won 17 games together. The other player has played for 6 teams since being drafted 5th overall in 2012. That maybe be good enough for a Playoff contender in the East, but not an NBA championship. Brooklyn is on its way to hitting rebuild mode soon, Mikhail is just trying to prolong it even more. I mean, he mentioned Boran Bogdonavic as one of the players he was looking forward to. Really? He goes on to make a JOKE! A JOKE about the Nets and his marriage comment he made 5 years ago. A ridiculous statement that hasn’t lost it’s stupidness. He even brought in Adam Silver into his situation. Can Nets fans sign a petition or something? Nets fans aren’t happy.
