Lupe Fiasco isn’t giving Justin Bieber any breaks. In the interview the Chicago artist empties his thoughts on Bieber’s use of the n-word and how Donald Sterling caught hell from not even saying the word, but Bieber uses it and people are cool with it.
“I don’t think anybody should be allowed to profit off racism,” he continued. “Donald Sterling made a billion dollars [when] he sold the team, and there was such an uproar about somebody who didn’t use the N-word at all, but then you have somebody who made a very racist joke about it — I wonder if Justin Bieber’s gonna get the same treatment as Donald Sterling?”
Is Bieber equal to Sterling? No. However, I do feel that Lupe has a point. People have found ways to be selective with who they toss the term racist at. Furthermore, black people in his camp have to stop giving Bieber a pass, albeit, it happened when he was 15, but he has to face the music.
Nevertheless, not a single soul will hold him accountable. So the uproar is pointless.
