NBA 2K has become such a massive industry. Almost everybody who loves basketball enjoys the video game, including many NBA players.
Kyrie Irving’s new Foot Locker commercial spoofs the popular video game. Approached by a small kid who is lighting teams up as Kyrie on 2K, Irving shows him his own simulation video game. In it, the Cleveland Cavaliers point guard plays as the same child in trying to complete day to day tasks but he’s not having quite as much success. Hilariously, Irving fails at catching the school bus on time, losing the game.
Irving may be a championship winner who hit arguably the biggest shot in Cleveland basketball history. But in this Foot Locker commercial, he shows that he’s human when it comes to the normal everyday functions.
Fortunately for him, he doesn’t have to worry about things like a lunch box and a school bus anymore. Instead, he can focus on crossing defenders over and hitting some big shots. I have a feeling Irving is a little more comfortable doing that. After all, he did a fine job of it in the NBA Finals as he and the Cavs came back from a 3-1 deficit against the 73-win Golden State Warriors.
