The Kobe Bryant retirement countdown continues and we quickly approach the last game for Kobe Bryant. The Kobe Bryant era officially ends on Wednesday fittingly against a team that many would agree his career really got started against, the Utah Jazz.
As Bryant prepares to step aside, he’s been on record talking about how cool these dedications and honors from other teams and the NBA have been as he nears the end but in a new Nike ad, Kobe has one request for his fans. He wants them to hate him.
Instead of being showered in love for his accomplishments, Kobe tells fans to hate him “Because I gave you 4 a.m. Because I pushed you when no one else would. Hate me because I demanded greatness. Greatness demands everything.”
Kobe ends the spot by saying, “Love me…when you become greater.”
