Team USA Basketball is really a time for NBA superstars to bond with other superstars in the league. In an attempt at that, DeMarcus Cousins began making fun of players jumpshots, including Paul George, Draymond Green and Klay Thompson. I’m not going to lie, Cousins does a pretty good impersonation of Draymond Green’s not so pretty jump shot. (Per Baller Visions):
After George and Cousins playfully argued about whose jump shot is uglier. Klay, Jimmy Butler and one of the Team USA coaches joined in for a game of bank. Now the rules are simple; you take turns shooting a 3, if you make it, it counts as 1 point, if you miss the points get added to your total. The last man standing wins.
Jimmy Butler did end up winning but Klay Thompson and DeMarcus Cousins were not missing out there at all. Whether you think DeMarcus Cousins form is ugly or not, it seems like he can consistently hit shots from behind the 3-point line now, and the thought of that is scary. An all-star post dominant center is now able to hit shots from 21 feet out? Maybe Vlade Divac was that far off in saying DeMarcus Cousins is the most dominant player.
