With the draft set to come on Thursday, the player who will be drafted by the Washington Wizards is still up in the air, and a question to everybody. Holding the 19th pick, it’s hard to know exactly who is going to be available, but the workouts that have been held at Verizon Center have been tough for fans and media to get a read on the direction Washington is looking to go.
Monday’s pre-draft workout for the Wizards included former UCLA forward Kevon Looney, who look some time to have a courtside report with Dan Nolan after the workout.

When asked about the best features he could bring to the team, Looney responded with “being able to stretch the floor out” and “rebounding.” As the Wizards look to build on their success with small ball, Looney could be somebody Washington could look to so they could work on floor spacing. Being a guard at the beginning of high school, he has a nice shooting touch and almost plays like a guard, which could be a great match with the Wizards.
Looney also acknowledged the Wizards already have a great frontcourt with Nene and Marcin Gortat, but feels he could be a great addition. If the Wizards choose to go with the forward from UCLA, they will add another key piece to their frontcourt, and will have an option to bring in off the bench when they choose to go small.
