After a tough 111-109 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers in Game 7 of the Western Conference Quarterfinals, Kawhi Leonard explained how the series was hard-fought, and could have gone either way. In the end, the Clippers made one more shot than the Spurs were able to, and were able to move onto the Western Conference Semifinals. The shot by Chris Paul sent the Spurs back to San Antonio unable to defend their title.
Leonard explained he expects most of the roster to be back next season even though the Spurs have a lot of players that are not under contract for next season. With a team that has been so consistent for over a decade, it would not be a surprise for the Spurs to look very identical to how they looked this season. With his season now over, Leonard will look to improve on winning this season’s Defensive Player of The Year Award.
