Frank Ocean hasn’t been wasting any time since releasing his debut album, channel ORANGE, last year. At the end of that same year, the Odd Future singer had already revealed that he had begun work on his second LP.
In the last conversation about the untitled LP, Frank revealed that it follows a theme introduced on the bonus track of channel ORANGE, “Golden Girl”. It seems that that information doesn’t conflict with what he told MTV on the red carpet of the TIME100 event.
Frank revealed that the first album was inspired by Stevie Wonder and says that the second one may contain traces of the Beach Boys and the Beatles. Read his quote below.
“When I was making the first album there were a group of artists that I listened to, just for inspiration and to absorb the energies,” he said. “It was a lot of Stevie Wonder, and this time it’s a lot of Beach Boys and Beatles and whatnot, so we’ll see how it trickles into the music and the final product. I can’t say much other than that.”
