The Memphis Grizzlies defeated The Golden State Warriors in a big road win for The Grizzlies which Mike Conley came up big in his return.
Draymond Green who is a gritty defender and goes 110% every play may have hit Mike Conley in the face unintentionally, but the video looks like it may have been intentional.
Now if Conley doesn’t have the mask on this may be a non story, but looks like Draymond could be trying to get the advantage on a player that made his presence known in this game with 22 points and +9 on the court.
Not the greatest of stats, but Conley sure had an effect on the game. Green was willing to try and slow down Conley’s big game. Green hitting Conley in the face is vintage playoff basketball (to an extent) opponents trying to get the upper hand doing whatever it takes.
I think the play was intentional even though the two former Michigan State Spartans Zach Randolph and Draymond Green met at mid-court after the play when Green was confronted by Randolph he mouthed to him it was his bad.
What did you really expect Green to admit he did it on purpose?
A player like Green is good for this series the motor, emotion, and energy he brings will help compete against the physicality and emotion of players like Zach Randolph and Tony Allen bring to the table.
If we see Conley get hit in the face again like this the refs need to be on their toes to make the right call whether it is a flagrant or not.
