NBA on NBC is one of the hollowed staples of NBA programming. It was a key to most NBA coverage from 1990 into the early 2000’s but many kids today under the age of 21 might not exactly remember the NBA being on NBC.
It appears that one fan does. Ryan Eytcheson took to YouTube and brought us an amazing NBA Finals intro that features footage from the 2001 NBA Finals.
The ‘David vs Goliath’ theme is just as relevant now as it was back then when Allen Iverson and the Philadelphia 76ers taking on Shaquille O’Neal, Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers. The words that Marv Albert spoke on that intro promo still ring true today as Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors take on LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2015 NBA Finals.
