In case you didn’t hear, Chris Paul was magnificent against the San Antonio Spurs in Game 7 of their hellacious first-round playoff series on Saturday night. Paul led the Clippers to a 111-109 win at home as the Clippers advance to play the Houston Rockets in the conference semifinals.
Paul finished with 27 points (9-for-13 from the floor, 5-for-6 from three) and 6 assists, but scored 18 of his points in the second half including nine in the fourth quarter.
Also making this a signature performance for Paul was the hamstring injury that sent him to the locker room in the first half and continued to aggravate him in the second half. It didn’t stop Paul from coming up huge when the Clippers needed it most, which ended with Paul hitting the go-ahead shot with a second left in the game to give his time the final lead.
