
Carmelo Anthony is one of the more divisive players among NBA fans. On one hand, he is a talented player especially in his ability to score the ball and will undoubtedly be in the Hall of Fame once he retires. On the other, he’s had very little postseason success in his NBA career and no ring to show for his play.
It seems like Anthony knows all about that. In a new Foot Locker commercial for the company’s “Week of Greatness”, Melo talks to two fans who deem him unworthy of being called great due to his lack of a ring. The New York Knicks forward wins the battle, however, by calling the fans out as internet trolls after discussing his success in the NBA, college, and international basketball.
This is a great performance from Carmelo Anthony who’s experienced his fair share of criticism. Despite his Hall of Fame career, Anthony has not been able to shake off the criticism only because he has not won at the highest level. Being able to have some fun with it in this ad is great for him and his fans.
Plus, it’s not like Super Team v2.0 is close to competing for a title anytime soon.
