Everybody to the set. Showtime!
In the 3rd installment off of rookies vs Vets, the URL had chosen Aye Verb vs Brizz Rawsteen. Smack is NOT PLAYING this year; releasing Aye Verb vs Brizz six days after the second battle, Chess vs DNA, making that three battles in eleven days.
Originated styles are hard to come across by in battle rap these days and the URL has found a new gem in Brizz Rawsteen.
This event will prove if Brizz can emit the crazy energy past emcees have delivered on this stage, as this will be his biggest battle up to date. His greatest challenge, Aye Verb, was something he was mentally prepared for and it translated through the camera.
Twitter has been buzzing over this battle and here are a couple of thoughts fans took to twitter after watching the battle.
‘he say he creeping with the iron low like its anemic. i feed that bitch shell until it throw up, its bulimic’ @BRIZZRAWSTEEN clearly won
— Mr. Insensitive (@GILLY_ROYAL)
Brizz remixed one of Verb’s best lines said in a battle against Goodz and made it his own. Brizz’s style, more gory than most, is written so it can be projected at a quick pace coupled with multiple syllables aka multis, to create a deep rhyming pattern that most emcees cannot do. This could be problematic at times if done excessively. The crowd could become restless and have side conversations while he is spitting his verse. Crowd control within his lyrics aka punchlines, was spotty within his rounds and that just goes to show his lack of experience on a big stage. Catering to a crowd of seven hundred plus, in comparison to two hundred people in a small room, is a game changer and that is what the Vets were talking about when it comes to the big stage.
Yah but brizz needs to cut out the unnessesary multis but he can be great

The Vet, Aye Verb aka Verb Von Doom, exemplifies why he is still considered a top lyricist. Tie in creativity with an outstanding pen, it is hard to match up against a 100% Aye Verb. I don’t know if the world has seen this Aye Verb in years. His demeanor within the battle was as if there was no room for slacking. He kept up his energy knowing the talent of the rookie standing in front of him, or he wouldn’t have taken this battle. Verb was fed up with the rookies saying they can beat a Vet on the big stage, even with all of them having remarkable pens; which he feels it does not equal up to the past performances the Vets have shown in the past years. One of Verb’s bars that spoke volumes comparing what rookies go through as to a Vet. He tweets.
“You go on stage before the mics get warmed up….nigga I don’t even like to warm up”
— VERB VONDOOM (@AYEVERB)
