You scream! I scream! We all scream for ice cream!
Beginning Friday, July 19, Tyra Banks will her brand, SMiZE & Dream, to Washington, D.C. and run a pop-up ice cream shop. Located 2653 Connecticut Avenue NW, Banks’ pop-up scoop shop will offer a wide variety of flavors, including Cap Hill Crunch and Smize Surprize, to Washingtonians until September 20.
Smile Suprize is described as a sprinkle-coated truffle with fillings like jelly, cookie dough, cake crumbles and cream. Meanwhile, Cap Hill Crunch is a Cap’n Crunch cereal-infused ice cream with toffee crunch and cereal milk-soaked French toast pieces.
SMiZE & Dream may be bringing ice cold treats to the nation’s capital, but that’s not all that the company does. Banks is using the company as a vehicle to inspire youth and create change. After the pop-up shop closes its door in September, she will open a nonprofit learning center that teaches others about the “science and selling” of the ice cream industry.
“People come to D.C. and ignite change, which has always been a goal of mine,” she said, according to Eater.
“[Being here] allows us to tap into the city’s international strength [and] culinary innovation.”
