The Boston Celtics fought until the very end until Tyler Zeller executed Head Coach Brad Steven’s play to perfection while showing great patience here with 1.7 seconds left.
Zeller’s footwork to position himself away from rim protector Rudy Gobert and the ability to hang in the air until Gordon Hayward and Trey Burke could not defend the shot. Zeller did release the ball with 0.2 seconds left to steal one away from The Utah Jazz.
Since Tyler Zeller was acquired by The Boston Celtics in the off season he has proven himself as a serviceable big man off the bench at times and in the starting line up now with the injury to Kelly Olynyk. He is averaging 9 ppg and 5 rebounds per game, but he’s had some big games and with his movement away from the ball it helps keep the offensive flow going.
This may have been the last thing you expected a play drawn up for Tyler Zeller to win the game, but Stevens gets the mismatch he wants at the rim with Burke guarding Zeller I’ll take that shot with Zeller that close any day of the week.
