The Minnesota Timberwolves have re-signed center Nikola Pekovic for 5 years earning $60 million. Pekovic averaged 16.3 points per game and 8.8 rebounds last season.
He was picked 31st in the 2008 NBA Draft by the T’Wolves but didn’t play for them until 2010 (he played for European team Panathinaikos for the two years after he was drafted)
I think this is a good signing. He’s 27 at the moment and for most players that’s when they enter their prime which is good for everybody involved.
With this deal sorted I think Minnesota have a good chance of playoff basketball next season but everyone has to be healthy, especially Kevin Love and Ricky Rubio. If them two aren’t 100% they can kiss their playoff chances goodbye.
