Thompson spent the first half of the season with the Sacramento Kings and was traded just before the trade deadline along with Tyrese Haliburton and Buddy Hield to acquire Domantas Sabonis. For the Pacers, he played only four games including a 17 points, 6 rebounds, and one block performance in a win against the Washington Wizards.
“We thank him for what he’s brought for the last six or seven days. He brought a high level of professionalism and he’s done a really good job”, said Carlisle to the media.
Thompson will add some veteran experience to the roster and be the backup for former All-Star Nikola Vucevic. The Bulls are currently in the first seed of the Eastern Conference with a 38-21 record, just one win above the Miami Heat.
